Hazardous Material Spill Responders Working Document
This document provides a listing of companies that could provide emergency response to hazardous material spills in some of the countries in Asia Pacific. They may be contacted as needed.
Hazardous Waste Vendors Working Document
This document lists the various companies that could provide treatment and/or disposal of hazardous wastes in some Asia Pacific countries.
Chemical Health Risk Assessment (CHRA) Survey
The ORC Asia Pacific Steering Committee found the need to conduct a CHRA Capability in Asia Pacific for our ORC AP HSE group. There are some concerns and challenges faced by our members in meeting the needs of such services in this region. As such, the Survey provided valuable feedback from our ORC AP HSE members to help us learn how each Corporation manages its unique CHRA activities.
Workshop Notes on ‘Building HSE Capability in Asia Pacific.’
Delegates to the ORC AP HSE Forum in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on 11th April 2008 identified several main causes of high turnover of HSE professionals in Asia Pacific, and based on the experiences of some of the members, provided suggestions and ideas for retaining employees .
Workshop Notes on ‘Lockout and Tagout.’
Delegates to the ORC AP HSE Forum in Singapore on 24th July 2008 identified several challenges in implementing a LOTO program in Asia Pacific, and also collectively identified best practices that have been implemented in some of our members’ corporations. Another group discussed and exchanged ideas on the causes of LOTO accidents and lessons learned.
Workshop Notes on ‘Leading HSE Indicators.’
Delegates to the ORC AP HSE Forum in Bangkok on 21st November 2008 shared some of the current HSE leading indicators their companies have adopted. They also discussed the strengths and weaknesses of each indicator and collectively identified some best practices for using leading indicators.
Workshop Notes on ‘Risk Assessment.’
Delegates to the ORC AP HSE Forum in Seoul on 17th April 2009 described some of the risk assessment programs used in their companies and suggested areas for improvement. Several best practices were identified in the process.
Workshop Notes on ‘Supply Chain Management’
Delegates to the ORC AP HSE Forum in Shanghai on 24th July 2009 shared Supply Chain management practices being adopted by their companies. They also brainstormed improvements that should be incorporated to ensure safety and health. Another group discussed the various selection criteria for suppliers and the challenges inherent in identifying good supply chain candidates. Best practices were also identified by the delegates.
Workshop Notes on ‘Crisis Management’
Delegates to the ORC AP HSE Forum in Manila on 5th November 2009 discussed elements of crisis management . One group shared how its members' respective companies are adopting crisis management policies and the various challenges they are facing in implementing them; and identified areas for improvement. Another group shared various crisis management scenarios and discussed the methodology of testing and verifying the effectiveness of crisis management programs.
