1)     Statement from the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) on Release of World Health Organisation Report on INTERPHONE Study
·        concludes that currently available data do not warrant any general recommendation to limit use of mobile phones in the adult population,
 
·        recommends that, due to the lack of any data relating to children and long term use of mobile phones, parents encourage their children to limit their exposure by reducing call time, by making calls where reception is good, by using hands-free devices or speaker options, or by texting.
 
New Zealand
1)     Waste reduction schemes receive accreditation
Announced on 19 May, 2010.
Accreditation of two new product stewardship schemes for recycling and reducing harm from used farm plastics and glass packaging.
The Plasbackfarm plastic recycling scheme is a voluntary scheme for the collection of farm plastic waste for recycling into new products such as piping or bins or reuse.
 
Philippines
1)     Fight for ozone layer shifts to high gear from CFC to HCFC

·        to phaseout the use of hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) in developing countries starting 2013 in accordance with the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.
·        Philippines has stopped the importation of chlorofluorocarbons or CFCs since January 1 this year.
·        Philippines, phaseout in HCFC production or consumption is set by 10% in 2015; by 35% in 2020; and by 67.5% in 2025; with a total phaseout in 2030.
