Nanotechnology Consensus Workplace Safety Guidelines

This table offers a selection of peer-reviewed Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) tools and reference materials that may be useful to practitioners involved in deployment of nanotechnology.

The nine columns represent nine broad areas applicable to HS&E. Within each area we have identified a number of specific materials (tools, useful references etc.) which are linked into the document. If you click on blue underlined text you will access a table. Column One contains a link to the reference material or tool. Column Two contains a peer review of the tool.

This table was set up by the ORC Task Force on Nanotechnology. The Task Force is comprised of both ORC member companies and non-members. We look on it as a “living document” which will be updated as new knowledge becomes available. We invite anyone with HS&E knowledge to share to forward it to ORC. We will process input through our peer review procedures then link it into the table.

Background Information – This document provides brief background information on what nanotechnology is, routes of exposure, risks that are specific to nano size, an overview of industrial applications and the importance of Product Stewardship.
